Recently, Li Shitao, Party secretary and director of the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, emphasized during a survey of the construction progress of the Advanced Functional Materials Industry Innovation Joint Laboratory that the government will fully leverage its guiding role, coordinating and allocating resources from national strategic funds such as the manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading fund and the integrated circuit industry fund to help local enterprises strengthen their core technology layout and accelerate the construction of the industrial ecosystem.
It is understood that the laboratory was jointly established by Hubei Dinglong Holding Co., Ltd. and six upstream and downstream research institutions and enterprises in the industrial chain, focusing on the localization of optoelectronic semiconductor materials. It focuses on the needs of the "light, chip, screen, terminal, network" industries such as new displays and integrated circuits, tackling technical barriers in the field of high-end materials. Currently, the laboratory has already deployed cutting-edge fields such as flexible display substrates and semiconductor polishing consumables, aiming to form a full-chain innovation system covering research and development to industrialization, and promoting the independent and controllable development of key materials.
Li Shitao pointed out that as an important carrier for strengthening and supplementing the integrated circuit and new display industries in Wuhan, the laboratory needs to further deepen the collaborative mechanism of production, education, and research in the future. The Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology will provide all-round support in terms of policy support, project application, and resource docking, focusing on supporting the implementation of national key research and development plans in the field of electronic new materials and accelerating the efficiency of technological achievements transformation.
In addition, he specifically mentioned that capital empowerment will be used to cultivate leading enterprises in the industry, encouraging enterprises to carry out strategic mergers and acquisitions and reorganize resources in the segmented links of the industrial chain; at the same time, improving the talent incentive mechanism, piloting equity plans for core technical personnel and long-term performance reward systems, building a "technology + capital + talent" integrated development model, and helping Wuhan build a new material industry cluster with global competitiveness.
