On May 27, a symposium on Sino-European semiconductor upstream and downstream enterprises was held in Beijing. Representatives from relevant departments of the Ministry of Commerce, the China Semiconductor Industry Association, the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, and more than 40 Sino-European semiconductor upstream and downstream enterprises attended the meeting. The meeting exchanged views on deepening Sino-European economic and trade cooperation in the semiconductor field.
The meeting emphasized that both China and Europe hold important positions in the global semiconductor supply chain, and that strengthening cooperation is in the interests of both sides. Given the current complex and severe international situation and the increasing instability and uncertainty, China will continue to expand high-level opening up, provide a fair, stable, transparent, and predictable policy environment for enterprises, support Sino-European semiconductor companies in giving full play to their respective complementary advantages, deepen economic and trade cooperation in accordance with laws and regulations, resolutely oppose unilateralism and bullying behavior, and strive to maintain the security and stability of the global semiconductor supply chain.
Representatives at the meeting unanimously agreed that the security and stability of the global semiconductor production and supply chain are currently facing severe challenges. This symposium provided a good platform for Sino-European semiconductor upstream and downstream enterprises to enhance understanding, boost trade confidence, and deepen exchanges and cooperation. Strengthening Sino-European exchanges and cooperation in the semiconductor field will help inject new impetus into the recovery and growth of the world economy.
Representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and other departments attended the meeting and responded to the issues and suggestions raised by the enterprises.
