On June 7th, Lishui Zhongxin Wafer Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd. in Zhejiang Province held a 12-inch polished wafer production line launch ceremony, marking the official mass production of the city's first batch of 12-inch polished wafers in the Lishui Economic Development Zone. This is another solid step forward for Lishui's characteristic semiconductor industry in the field of key materials, and an important milestone in the Economic Development Zone's efforts to promote industrial transformation and upgrading and build a "ten thousand mu and hundreds of billions" new industrial platform.

Zhejiang Lishui Zhongxin Wafer Semiconductor Materials Co., Ltd. was established in 2022, covering a total area of 224 mu. In December last year, it successfully produced the city's first 12-inch perfect single crystal ingot.

Six months later, Zhongxin Wafer delivered good news again—the city's first batch of 12-inch polished wafers were successfully put into production, filling the gap in the technical chain of Lishui's characteristic semiconductor industry development. The project is expected to reach its planned monthly production capacity by the end of this year, and the annual sales revenue after reaching full production will exceed 2 billion yuan.

"As the city's second 10-billion-yuan project, the Zhongxin Wafer 12-inch polished wafer project is a landmark achievement in Lishui's efforts to strengthen its industrial chain in key materials and promote industrial upgrading. The project's launch has significant guiding significance for the high-quality development of the city's ecological industry."

Zhou He-ping stated that Zhongxin Wafer, as a "chain-leading" flagship enterprise, has given full play to its leading role, actively driving the aggregation of various elements and resources to the industrial chain, and successively landing projects in Lishui, laying a solid foundation for building an industrial cluster. He hopes that the company will accelerate scientific research and development, break through technological blockades, provide the industry with better products, and contribute more to the domestic semiconductor industry. The successful launch of Zhongxin Wafer's first batch of 12-inch polished wafers fully demonstrates the development achievements of the Lishui Economic Development Zone's layout of a characteristic semiconductor industry chain centered on key materials.
