On December 2, 2025, Pacific Time in California, USA, SEMI announced in its "Worldwide Semiconductor Equipment Market Statistics (WWSEMS) Report" that global semiconductor equipment shipments in the third quarter of 2025 increased by 11% year-on-year to reach US$33.66 billion, representing a 2% increase from the previous quarter.
The growth in shipment value was driven by robust investment in advanced technologies, particularly in cutting-edge logic, DRAM, and packaging solutions that support AI computing. In addition, a significant increase in equipment shipments to the Chinese region also contributed to the overall positive trend.
Ajit Manocha, President and CEO of SEMI, stated: “Since the beginning of this year, global semiconductor equipment shipments have nearly reached 100 billion U.S. dollars, reflecting the industry’s sustained momentum and its commitment to investing in technological innovation. Strong demand for AI continues to drive spending in advanced logic and memory segments, as well as in packaging applications focused on energy efficiency. This trajectory underscores the critical role semiconductors play in shaping a smarter, more connected world.”
