Intel Corporation officially announced on September 16, 2025, that Dr. Wang Rui, who has served as Chairman of Intel China for four years, will retire this month. Marking the 40th anniversary of Intel's entry into the Chinese market, this management transition signifies a new starting point for the company's strategic transformation.
Wang Rui joined Intel in 1985 and has held multiple key leadership positions globally and in China. She promoted the implementation of the "Intel China 2.0" strategy, which strengthened R&D investment and industry ecosystem collaboration. In fiscal year 2024, Intel China's revenue reached $15.532 billion, accounting for about 30% of global revenue, highlighting the high importance of the Chinese market.
Mr. Wang Zhicong, appointed as Vice Chairman of Intel China—a position newly established in 2025—has over 20 years of extensive industry and management experience. He will be fully responsible for business operations in China. Facing Intel's global strategic adjustments and restructuring challenges under new CEO Chen Liwu, he will undertake the important role of leading continuous innovation and growth in the Chinese market.
