NVIDIA advances its AI presence in Europe, reportedly set to jointly build a data center with Deutsche Telekom.

Latest reports indicate that NVIDIA and Deutsche Telekom AG are preparing to build a data center in Germany, valued at 1 billion euros (approximately $1.16 billion).

Sources familiar with the matter say NVIDIA and Deutsche Telekom will provide financial support for this project, which marks a step by both companies to accelerate the development of additional infrastructure in Europe aimed at powering AI systems. Additionally, SAP SE, Europe's largest software company, will become a customer of this facility.

Sources familiar with the matter say that Deutsche Telekom CEO Tim Höttges, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, SAP CEO Christian Klein, and Germany’s Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and the Modernization of the State, Carsten Brezinski, are expected to announce this plan at an event in Berlin next month.

It is estimated that the German project will utilize approximately 10,000 advanced graphics processing units (GPUs). In comparison, a single data center being developed in Texas, USA, by SoftBank Group, OpenAI, and Oracle is expected to house around 500,000 GPUs.
