According to reports, on December 10, SK Hynix Vice President Kim Cheon-sung announced at an event that the company is collaborating with NVIDIA to develop next-generation SSDs.

It is reported that the two parties are collaborating to develop the next-generation NAND-based SSD, a project named “Storage Next.” The goal is to achieve innovative performance comparable to HBM memory technology while increasing data transfer speeds by a factor of 8 to 10.

Jin Tiancheng revealed that NVIDIA is currently actively conducting preliminary tests (PoCs), while SK Hynix has dubbed its initiative “AI-NP (AI NAND Performance).” A storage prototype product based on PCIe Gen 6 and supporting approximately 25 million IOPS is expected to be released by the end of next year. Furthermore, by the end of 2027, SK Hynix will be able to produce products that support 100 million IOPS.

The alpha version of the highly anticipated HBF (High-Bandwidth Flash) chip is expected to be released at the end of January next year, and the HBF proof-of-concept product is projected to be launched around 2027.
