On September 3, 2026, U.S. Pacific Time, SEMI released its “Global Semiconductor Equipment Market Report.” Worldwide Semiconductor Equipment Market Statistics (WWSEMS) It was announced that in the second quarter of 2026, global semiconductor equipment shipments increased by 23% year over year, reaching US$40.53 billion, and rose 11% quarter over quarter.

This result marks the second consecutive record-breaking quarter, reflecting the accelerating growth in demand for the technologies and capacity solutions needed to support AI investment momentum and the global expansion of AI computing infrastructure.

SEMI President and CEO Ajit Manocha stated: “Record semiconductor equipment shipments for the second consecutive quarter underscore the industry’s ongoing investment in advanced manufacturing capacity to meet surging demand for chips, particularly in the AI infrastructure sector.
