According to Xiamen TV News, the installation and commissioning of all equipment for Silan Jihong's 8-inch silicon carbide power device chip manufacturing production line project have been completed, and the line has now begun trial production with wafers.

It is reported that Silan Jihong's 8-inch silicon carbide power device chip manufacturing production line is a key provincial and municipal industrial project, with a total investment of 12 billion yuan, to be built in two phases. The first-phase project, which involves an investment of 7 billion yuan, primarily includes the construction of the main factory building, power center, testing center, and supporting facilities, and officially broke ground last July.

As the country's first 8-inch silicon carbide power device chip manufacturing production line boasting fully independent intellectual property rights and the largest production capacity, the first-phase project of Silan Jihong will achieve an output of 35,000 wafers per month upon full operation, generating an annual output value of approximately 7.5 billion yuan. This will inject strong momentum into the upgrading and transformation of Xiamen's semiconductor industry.

Next, the project will also launch its second-phase construction, with an investment of 5 billion yuan. Once the second phase is operational, the total production capacity of 8-inch silicon carbide chips will increase to 720,000 wafers per year—placing the facility among the world’s leaders in scale.
