The United States has exempted semiconductor equipment manufactured in the EU from a 15% tariff.

On July 27, 2025 local time, US President Trump and European Commission President von der Leyen reached a new trade agreement. Under the agreement, the US will impose a 15% tariff on most goods from the EU, significantly lower than the previously threatened 30%. Simultaneously, the EU pledged an additional $600 billion investment in the US.

New historical high! SEMI predicts that the total global semiconductor equipment sales will reach US$125.5 billion in 2025

On July 22, 2025, California time, SEMI's Mid-Year Total Semiconductor Equipment Forecast – OEM Perspective indicated that total global semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are expected to reach a record high of $125.5 billion in 2025, a year-over-year increase of 7.4%. Driven by continued advancements in logic, memory, and technology migration, equipment sales are expected to further climb to $138.1 billion in 2026, marking three consecutive years of growth.
